Help! Ride Operations Problem

Hey everyone. I've got a roller coaster I'm building (specifically a recreation of Slinky Dog Dash from Disney World) and I'm using a custom ride operations mode. At one point during the ride, I need the coaster train to come to a full stop, then reverse around 10 feet (around 3 meters) and come to a stop again. Then, 4 seconds later, the coaster train needs to do a launch.

I've tried using backwards launches, lifts, etc to attempt to move the train backwards, but nothing worked.

This all needs to take place on a FLAT strip of track, like this:
